Supreme Lord of the East

High god of the Shanhaijing whose wives Xihe and Changxi bore the ten suns and twelve moons.

Dijun is the high god of the Shanhaijing’s eastern myth cycle. His wife Xihe bore the ten suns and his wife Changxi the twelve moons; from his lineage came the founder of the Shang and the ancestor of the Zhou. In later texts his figure merges with the sage emperor Diku.
