Lord of the male immortals of the east, counterpart of the Queen Mother of the West.

Dongwanggong, the King Father of the East, is the counterpart of the Queen Mother of the West in the celestial hierarchy. Lord of the eastern dawn and of the male immortals, he joins her in judging the ranks of transcendents. In Han tomb art the pair sit enthroned together as the rulers of the immortal world.
