Chen Jinggu, protectress of women and children in Fujian and Taiwan, who died praying for rain.

Linshui Furen, Lady Chen Jinggu of Gutian, Fujian, lived in the late Tang and is honored for slaying serpents, praying for rain and saving the distressed. She died at twenty-four while praying for rain and was gradually deified, receiving the title Shuntian Shengmu. Across Fujian and Taiwan she is worshipped as the goddess of childbirth, protecting women in labor and children in danger.
