Goddess of Drought

Daughter of the Yellow Emperor who stopped the rains to defeat Chi You, thereafter causing drought.

Nüba was the daughter of the Yellow Emperor who ended the great storm raised by Chi You. Summoned to the battlefield, she dried the wind and rain so that the Yellow Emperor could prevail, but her power could not be withdrawn. Unfit to return to heaven, she dwelt in the north where no rain fell, becoming the drought goddess of later lore.
