Eight-headed water god of the Valley of Rising Sun, master of rivers and flood.

Tianwu, the Earl of Waters, guards the Valley of Rising Sun at the eastern edge of the world. Eight human faces look out from his tiger body, and eight feet and eight tails carry him over rivers and seas. As the god who commands the waters of the east, he is one of the great elemental powers of the Shanhaijing’s geography.
