Human-faced, jackal-bodied serpent with bird wings whose shriek foretold a great flood.

Huashe is the creature of Yang River with a human face, a jackal’s body, bird’s wings and a serpent’s way of moving. Its cry is like a shout of command, and where it appears the town is flooded. A hybrid of four animals, it is water disaster made flesh.
