God of the eastern mansions and chief of the Four Symbols, ruling spring, the east and the element of wood.

The Azure Dragon (Qinglong) embodies the seven eastern lunar mansions and leads the Four Symbols, representing spring, the east and wood. The Huainanzi pairs him with the god Taihao. In divination and geomancy, "left Azure Dragon, right White Tiger" fixed the cardinal directions, and the dragon became an emblem of imperial majesty.
