The Torch Dragon

A red, human-faced serpent god of Zhong Mountain whose open eyes make day and closed eyes make night, controlling the seasons.

The Shanhaijing describes the god of Zhangwei Mountain: "human-faced, serpent-bodied and red, with straight eyes... when he closes his eyes it is dark, when he opens them it is light. He does not eat, sleep or rest." Zhulong's breath makes winter and summer — an ancient vision of the god who orders time itself.
