Seven spider spirits ensnare the monks until a magical eagle and Bodhisattva Pilanpo prevail.

Seven spider spirits of the Pansi Cave weave a silken web around Tang Sanzang and his disciples. Sun Wukong follows the sisters to the Washing Spring, turns into an eagle and carries off their clothes; furious, they summon their elder brother, the hundred-eyed centipede demon. Only the Bodhisattva Pilanpo, with a needle from her own hair, can subdue the hundred eyes — and the cave is safe again.
