The Battle of Zhuolu

Huangdi vs Chi You

Huangdi fought Chi You at Zhuolu. Chi You summoned the Wind Earl and Rain Master; Huangdi sent down the Drought Goddess Ba, the rain ceased, and Chi You was slain.

The Shanhaijing records the fierce battle: "Chi You raised troops against Huangdi, who ordered Yinglong to attack him on the wilds of Ji. Yinglong stored up water, but Chi You called the Wind Earl and Rain Master to loose a great storm. Huangdi then sent down the heavenly woman Ba, the drought goddess; the rain ceased, and Chi You was slain." The tribes acclaimed Huangdi emperor, and the peoples of the Central Plain began to unite.
